College Mission Statement Our mission is to proclaim the transforming presence of Jesus Christ through biblical teaching and practical training, equipping men and women for service in His Church Worldwide. |
Courses Offered
One academic year of 30 weeks of study comprised of Winter and Spring Schools:
Winter School: 22 weeks (September to March)
Spring School: 8 weeks (April to June)
Many students come for the full 30 week course, but it is possible to attend either Winter or Spring School.
We cover a broad range of books of the bible and related subjects. Usually, subjects are studied in depth for one week. The studies are Christ-centred, systematic and thorough, covering many of the books of the Bible and related theological and practical topics.
Lectures are given by resident faculty and visiting guest speakers. Personal study, reading, workshops and regular tests complement the material presented in the lectures.
Outreach
There are opportunities throughout the year to get involved in music and drama teams, leading worship at Capernwray as well as going out on outreach in the local area. This may involve visiting local schools, churches, youth groups, prisons and others. Occasionally teams will be away for the weekend. A key part of Winter Bible School is 10-day outreach, a time when all the student body goes out in teams to work with churches or other organisations away from Capernwray. For many this is a highlight of the school, giving opportunity to put into everyday experience what has been taught in the classroom. More recently teams have been to Bosnia, Zimbabwe and Kenya and this is an area we are seeking to develop further.
Assessment and Credit
Tests, projects and assignments are given on many of the subjects during the course, and a Bible School Certificate is awarded to students fulfilling course requirements. Transfer of credits is possible to some colleges in Europe, the United States and Canada at their own discretion.
