The Ridley Vision

Ridley Hall was founded in 1881 to provide theological training for ministry in the Church of England and the wider Anglican Communion. An invigorating evangelical community grounded in prayer and worship, Ridley has long nourished reflective biblical, orthodox and mission-focussed ministry. The college enjoys close links to institutions of other traditions and denominations in the city of Cambridge.

Those who study at Ridley join a dynamic community which is centred on biblically-nourished faith, prayer that sustains and worship that transforms. While training men and women for ordination in a residential setting remains as our ‘core business’, Ridley also equips Christians for a wider range of ministry through a variety of integral programmes and centres:

The Centre for Pioneer Learning
The Centre for Pioneer Learning trains those ministering in cutting edge circumstances, and creating mission-shaped congregations

The Centre for Youth Ministry
The Centre for Youth Ministry forms those who, inspired by their Christian faith, work with young people and their families

The Simeon Centre for Prayer and the Spiritual Life
Conferences, quiet days and individual support are offered through the Simeon Centre for Prayer and the Spiritual Life, established in 2007 to work alongside church leaders and congregations around the country, encouraging and facilitating prayer and the spiritual disciplines

Faith in Business
Faith in Business relates the Christian faith to the world of work, recognising and supporting lay Christians to be faithful disciples in the business environment.

The Sabbatical Programme
The Sabbatical Programme provides opportunities for theological study and spiritual refreshment for clergy and scholars, and through our International Programme we also welcome students from all over the world to come and study in Cambridge for a year or two or more.
